PEREGIAN BEACH PSYCHOLOGY has emerged as one of the favoured organisations for providing effective psychological treatment and support. Founded by Dr. Ashley Wong Hoy in 1996, this practice has supported many individuals in crisis, and organisations with staffing and workplace dilemmas. The practice follows a humanistic-existential paradigm, working off the idea that all persons have drive to become whole.

The practice has developed partnerships between agencies and other government and non-government organisations such as the Noosa Youth Service (now United Synergies), Chandler McLeod, WorkCover, Eden Private Rehabilitation Centre (Cooroy), the Department of Child Safety, Commonwealth Rehabilitation Service, OSA Group, CentreLink, Allianz Insurance, Suncorp Insurance, The Barringron Centre (Victoria), and the North Coast Aboriginal Corporation of Community Health.

PARADIGM: Existential psychology is based on existential philosophy. This philosophy emerged out of the nineteenth century with the work of Frederick Nietzsche and Soren Kierkegaard and was later expanded by Husserl and Heidegger. This thinking was furthered by Jean-Paul Sartre, that focused on self-reliance, authenticity responsibility, and mortality.
